My hen has a bunch of broken feathers.

So a couple weeks ago my rooster was being really mean to my hen. If you read my other threads you'll see that the rooster has been really mean. BUT we got thought it and he is being nice. BUT my hen has a bunch of broken feathers and looks ugly. Summer is about to come and o don't want her to sunburn, if that's a thing for chickens. I just want to know if they will grow back or just fall off. They look really bad.

As long as you have that rooster, no they will not grow back. You can look into hen saddles to protect her.

Even if 'rooster is being nice' he could still damage more feathers.

And the ones already broken will not grow back until the bird molts.

Definitely damage from treading during mating. You may want to look into hen saddles if you wish for her feathers to grow back. Even the gentlest of roosters can get a little wild and accidentally damage her feathering.

As long as you have that rooster, no they will not grow back. You can look into hen saddles to protect her.

If I get a saddle foe her will she get overheated I the hot summer

Shouldn't. It's denim or cotton/poly and just covers her back.

You really want to look into saddles, I am probably going to start using them soon too, but without using them it can get really bad, 1/2 of one of my hens back is completely bare, and with others it is also really bad.and you shouldn't worry about overheating as long as you have fresh cool water and nice shade.
