My lovely little GSL Rose lays a nice med-lg egg every day. Problem is that since she has started laying (1 month)about once a week she has problems in the afternoon where she obviously does not feel good and soon she has some drippage of egg white then later has a soft egg or egg without a shell. One day she had about 3 "eggs" in a 24 hour period. I hope she grows out of it. Is there any super experienced chicken owner out there who knows a way to help her? She is so sweet.
She gets oyster shell free choice. Only 4 out of 12 are laying but they are 20 weeks so I just changed them to layer feed from grower.

It's not too uncommon when they start to lay to have some issues. However, if you are sure she's getting plenty of oyster shell, and good feed that is providing all the nutrients she needs, then all you can do is check her vent. You will need to pick her up, and hold her so you can see the vent area. Check to make sure she is not egg-bound, or has some other issue back there.

Since she is a young layer she may just be working out a few kinks in her system. You can try supplementing extra calcium- oyster shell, or crushed egg shell. A lot of hens that are bred to be high producers eventually develop problems like internal laying, and egg peritonitis, so definitely keep an eye on her. I hope she starts laying normally again soon!
