my hen just laid yoke, and today she just stands..help!!

I am not sure what is wrong with my hen. Yesterday she just shot out yoke, not the whole egg and today she just stands. What can I do to help her? She is a RIR, less than a year old. She looks pitiful.

Also she is a free range most of the time, I feed them corn, bread, and 16% protein feed. The rest of my RIR seem okay.

Eggbound, maybe?

I'm not completly sure what you can do, but this is a common roblem and I think sometomes the hen can be saved. I'll see what I can find for you. (I am by no means an expert.)

For eggbound I have read to give them a bath in warm water, they like it too. look up eggbound and internal laying here, you will get some info. good luck
