I bought two polish chicks to swap with eggs out from under my hen after she sat on a nest for 22 days. One of the babies died but the one that survived was the male. He is now around 2 months old and Coco started laying eggs again, but she began to leave him behind to go and sit on her eggs which she hid from us so we have no clue where she would go during the day. Mojito (Polish Chick) started following me around because he was confused and so he has been hanging out with me for about a week and a half now and he's gotten pretty attached to me. Coco started appearing again and she started attacking Mojito. Now Mojito is super scared of her and I don't know what to do. He's going to be moved to a sanctuary when he starts to crow because my neighborhood has regulations with keeping roosters and it's not allowed but he won't start crowing for another few months, in the meantime what can be a temporary solution? Mojito likes to be out and about in our yard but Coco sometimes finds him and pecks him, I don't wanna keep him cooped up until it's time for him to leave, it doesn't feel right.

They aren't really 'rejecting' them they are 'weaning' them.
Can happen anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
Can be hard to watch for sure....especially for a single chick as it now has no buddies.
