I have an Easter Egger hen that keeps terrorizing my other pets. Every time one of the other pets I keep on my property gets within pecking distance of her cage (10x10x6 dog kennel that is tarped & insulated), she does everything she can to peck the hell out of them. So far, she’s got three kittens and my 80+ lb Pitbull (who now refuses to go within 10 feet of the cage). Does anyone else have this problem & is there any way for me to fix it?

Well I have a chicken like this but she doesn't go after my dog. This behavior is strange. Maybe she is trying to show dominance.

I’m the only person/ animal she doesn’t go after, the most aggressive she’s ever been with me is pecking at my piercings but they’re super shiny metal so I can understand why she does that.

My Easter egged is at the bottom of the pecking order. Therefore she goes after anything that invades her yard, including my dogs & cats. They have learned to avoid her by not making eye contact with her when they want to pass her. She never attacks people. In fact she comes in the house every night & snuggles before going into the coop at night. She's just very protective of her yard.

The only one she hasn’t gone after is my big yellow Lab & I’m terrified that if she goes after him, he’ll kill her. & she’s not allowed in the house (most definitely not my rule lol) but she does love cuddles especially in the late evening & it sounds like she’s purring when she’s snuggled up to me

Luckily my dogs & 1 of my cats have learned to be around her. My other cat is scared of the chickens & they know it. Frances, my EE, will put her head down, fluff up & chase him around the yard. My husband has no choice but to let her come in. She'll peck on the glass door if it's closed to be let in. She'll hop on the couch & wait for me to come over. We snuggle & cuddle until she closes her eyes & relaxes. The fact that she doesn't poop this entire time is why I think my husband is ok with it.
