My hen layed her first egg! Are they always really big to start out?

My hen layed her first egg friday and it was really long and bigger than the grocery bought eggs this is a picture of what it looked like. Its the brown one.

And her second egg looked like this compared to her first one. The Big one on right is her first egg and the one on the left is her second egg.

why is her first egg so big?

Its probably a double yolk my pullet eggs are tiny

No they aren't usually so big, more often are small. So...you're just lucky I guess?

She just has to get into the rhythm. Usually they are pretty small to start and then gradually get bigger. Probably got two yolks in there...hopefully it wont be a habit with her. Those are the ones for me that end up being internal layers or have some other egg laying problem. Terri O

ya thats what we were thinking. Most likely the first egg is weird most people say. Thanks
