My hen lost half of her toe..... **UPDATED AGAIN**

her foot isnt that swollen and the area does not have heat in it. The end dried up after I cut the bone back but im still putting alittle neosporin on it twice a day. I've been adding antibiotics to her water that I got from tractor supply. I will post a pic later on today of her foot. it looks about the same though (except the bone is gone and the end is dried up)

If the bone is not jutting out, the wound is dry and there are no obvious signs of infection, then it sounds like your bird is going to be fine. I know lots of birds (not just chickens) who have survived far worse injuries and lived to tell the tale. Great job! It took some fortitude to deal with that bone cutting. Gives me the willies just thinking about it! Yikes!

She just laid an egg since the accident! So I think she is going to be fine!
