Definitely a rooster. It doesn't hurt to try training him to not crow, but the training is likely to be ineffective. Roosters are not dogs that can be trained to ignore their natural instincts, like crowing.

Aww come on, whats the point of being a roo if you can't roo?Not surprised! We have been trying a few different things go to make them quiet. Even brought them in the house last night to sleep in a small area with wood shavings. They slept in- not a peep out of them this morning. I wonder if we train them not to crow at this age will they develop as they get even older.
