On Friday, we brought all the animals home from the county fair and they were just fine. I did the routine health check, checking for mites, lice, breakages, wounds, or lameness, and all the girls were fine, so I let them loose. Well, I got home later, she was in a flower bed with a freshly layer egg (hers) beside her.
She tried to move herself but couldn’t.
I'm sorry to hear about your hen. With the symptoms you describe, I would lean towards this being Marek's, but there is no way to really know unless you lose her and send the body for testing. She can move everything except her legs. She has VERY limited mobility in her left leg but cannot move her right leg at all.
Thank you! She has been eating, drinking, and pooping normally.I'm sorry to hear about your hen. With the symptoms you describe, I would lean towards this being Marek's, but there is no way to really know unless you lose her and send the body for testing.
You can try placing her in a sling a couple of times a day to make her more comfortable. Some birds accept a sling while others don't so you would want to monitor her.
Provide her with her normal feed along with some egg, vitamin e and b-complex.
