Hello, our poor hen was attacked by our new puppy. She's awake and is eating, standing. But she looks like her feathers all got plucked from her poor head. She also looks "skinned" on a piece and has a flap of skin hanging. I moved her in our garage. Cleaned her up sprayed her with some poultry skin healing spray and lathered her up with Hen healer. I tried calling multiple vets in our area and no one seems to be able to help😩 is there anything else I should be doing?! I will attach pictures.

She will heal fine. Just will take a while longer due to larger area. Just need to keep the exposed stuff moisturized.

The only thing I would do is remove the flap of skin under her wattles, since it's weighing down the skin on her face near her eyes. But only remove about half to relieve the weight.

The rest can be pushed up to her chin/lower jaw to heal back together.

Thank you!!! Would I cut that with scissors?! Will that hurt her? Just trying to be prepared. Thanks so much for responding

A good sharp pair of Scissors yes.
Pain will be short lived, so don't worry too much.

Wound care is something I'm good at.

You could cut it off or you could place it back where it belongs and “glue” it down with antibiotic ointment (make sure it doesn’t have pain relief in it).
So sorry about your sweet girl ❤️😞

Too much weight for that to work, especially with it being on the front of the neck where gravity pulls down the hardest.
