My Hens aren't Laying, please read!

I have some cochin mix pullets. I was told by the person that gave me the eggs to hatch not to expect them to lay any eggs until early spring. He said cochins tend to take longer to mature.
I wouldn't worry about it, I know it sucks when you really want fresh eggs.

I think you must have missed the part where I said that the other hens from the same hatch, owned by the woman who sold me these, have been laying for 3 or 4 months. She has even had more chicks hatched out by her hens. These are "pure" cochins, not mixed.

It's probably stress from the move. When we moved at the end of November 2 years ago, we only went 17 miles, but it took my 30 hens until next April to start laying. And they were all over 1 year old, no molting, had extra light and heat, and we were feeding Layer pellets. Unless they are very very very stressed chickens (like most prey animals) will hide it. Because in the wild predators would go after stressed, sick, or injured animals. Just give them some time, and like someone else mentioned, the shorter daylight hours will also cut back laying. You may have to just wait until spring.
