Sounds like you've already tried the one thing that might have worked, removing him then putting him back, because they have to come back at the bottom of the pecking order. No mean roos tolerated here; don't want to breed them anyway. The world is full of extra roos, often for free. I'd gladly give you one of the three I have at present!
