My hens comb.

Why does my hens comb seem to enlarge sometimes ? I thought they were supposed to be small.

You mean it grows and shrinks? That's odd.

Yes, It is generally small but now it's big.

A hen's comb will enlarge and redden as she gets close to laying. Can also enlarge when a hen becomes the dominant hen.

Ooooh, well that would explain why she has been laying in her nesting box alot lately. Thank you! I was afraid that it may not be normal.
