My hens sound like bombs....

I know that sounds weird..... But sometimes when I go in the coop at night or after they've been up in their roosts, they make these whistling sounds like a bomb is being thrown. What the heck does it mean????

They make that sound when they hear something strange. It's kind of like, "I head something weird. Just watch your back."

Really??? When the first hen I lost was dying I was sitting in the coop with her just petting her for a little while and once it quieted down they all started doing it. So weird!

They have good hearing, so they prob hear you moving around slightly, and are interested.

Or just heard a strange sound. Mine do it all the time
As time goes on, you will hear all kinds of the noises they make!

It means they are hearing a noise they can't identify. I take it as their way of telling each other to hush so they can identify the source lol

Mine make a growling like sound when they see birds fly over, and they tilt there heads with an eye on the bird
