My home built incubator (7 day status report!)

the turner is the little giant, I think it came in a white box with blue writing.

Marcus,

Do you need any eggs or is that roo I gave you doing his job? All I have right now are mixed if you want some just stop by and pick them up free.

Hope this incubator works better.

The cooler one worked ok. If I had known more about incubating at the time, I would have gotten more than two birds to hatch. Ultimately, the new turner didn't fit in the cooler and I didn't want to cut it down....so I built one based on the size of the turner.

Well, the incubator has been running for 7 days and it has been a great incubator.

I check it a couple times a day and the temp in the wiggler has been exactly 99.5 almost every time I checked. I once had a temp of 99.7.

The humidity ranges from 42 to 48 depending on how full the water tray is. I just let it go until the humidity hits 42, then I fill the tray. I can go two or three days between fillings.

At this point, I wouldn't change a thing and am very very happy with the results.

What kind of paint did you use on the inside? I'm just wondering if it's something that will help keep the moisture inside the bator from ruining your wood? Is there such a paint?
