my homemade brooder!

Hey y'all, this is my first post, though I have gotten tons of tips and advice from these forums, so thanks to you all! Anyway, I have a Buff Orp. and a Barred Rock Hen and I just expanded my coop / run and now i have room for 4 more hens! can't wait till spring!!!

anyway, I had some free time today and made my new brooder for my 4 new girls that i just pre-ordered. thoughts, comments, suggestions?







it's 3 feet by about a foot and a half. is that enough room for 4 hens? I think it should be fine... the door opens all the way to make cleaning (and grabbing the cuties) easier, and the heating light stand has an adjustable height! I was kinda proud of myself... lol. inside i made a little roosting post for them, until they're bigger...

what y'all think? PS: I have 2 cream legbars and 2 blue laced red wyandottes coming! CAN'T WAIT!!!

Might want to put something where the door opens to hold the bedding in.

It's pretty small, probably going to need something bigger by about the 1-2 week mark.
