These are great! I use a heated plastic waterer and have 2 heaters in my other coops to keep the water from freezing. Those aquarium heaters are fairly cheap to run. I'm going to she the husband your ideas. Thanks for posting

UPDATE!

We recently had below zero nights and the nipples did seem to freeze up. I took out the livestock tank heater from the large (2 coop) tote waterer and put in two aquarium heaters, one on each end. I sunk the heaters with duck decoy anchors and put them over two fo the three nipples on each end. I did the same with the aquarium heater in the bucket waterer. By placing the heaters right over the nipples, the nipples didn't freeze at below zero temps. I took the livestock waterer heater and put it a large heavy plastic livestock watering bowl, so now my large herd of cats and my two dogs (when outdoors) have open water 24/7. I guess this is a win, win, win situation.
