My hopping chick?

My chick eats and drinks fine, but keeps its right leg up by its body. It hops or stands on its left. The leg is tight under it but has been trying to stretch and put it down on the brooder floor. Chick is four days old.

Hi John ,
I had a chick that hatched like that once. I even took him to the vet. She said to do leg exercises with him several times a day. You know...stretch it, bend it, stretch it, bend it, etc. She also said to massage it. I did that and, not too long after that, he was able to use his bad leg although he always limped. Best of luck to you and your little chick.

P.S. I named my boy Chester, after the character in an old western tv show called Gunsmoke. Chester in the tv program limped so that's why.
