"My house became a chicken coop. How did this happen!"

My spare room is also a "Chicken Coop" we have the incubators and brooders in there at the moment, but up until a month ago we had 3 seperate kiddie pools full of different ages/sizes. Thankfully my DH raises puppies and we had several different heights of circular gates to go around the pools. Once the temps leveled out (no more below 50 degree nights) and my oldest chicks could fly to the top of the 4 ft tall gates, we knew it was time to go outside. We are planning on building a mobile brooder to use during the warmer months outside to cut back on all the dust, because I am having to vacuum every other day it seems to keep it out of the rest of the house.

My girls are about to outgrow their brooder - a wire dog crate which I partitioned off while they were nuggets. Now they are miniature versions of their grown selves and I've removed the partitions last week. However, they are growing and growing and growing, so on Sunday as they rushed the gate of the brooder (11 mini chickens coming at me, singing and chirping, at full-speed!!), I had a brief panicked moment where I thought maybe I should just put pine litter on the floor of the living room and set up partitions to keep them from running amok.

Then I regained my senses - it's the LIVING room!!!
