My husband has bird fever~ He came home with Quail chicks~!

I thought I was the one with bird fever... but I guess DH has it too! He surprised me a bunch of little Quail babies. I know NOTHING about Quail~ And barely anything about chickens~ Help!!


Half the chicks are yellow and are supposed to grow up and be white. The other are the more standard color.

Oh, they seem like really sweet little birds. I'm getting 6 or 12 cortunix quail eggs tomorrow. They seem to get territorial when they're older, as I have noticed. I hoped I helped a little!

Quail are only "territorial" if they are housed with too many of the same sex, or too little hens per too many roos etc.

sounds like you have some A & Ms and brown coturnix aka Japanese Quails.

I so love when my DH catches the Bird Fever !

I agree with monarc23 , from your discriptions of them they sound like A & Ms and brown coturnix .
We have had the A&Ms before they were so sweet , made great pets , the kids were always playing with them .
