My husband is being a jerk about my chickens...

My husband does the same thing complains about all the chicken stuff...

Then I gently remind him (at the top of my voice) about all his toys and his stuff laying around. We have a whole garage full of nothing but "man junk".

Do the hens feet look normal?
I think there's an ailment called Bumble Foot that is contagious. Maybe you should check and make sure she doesn't have something.

My DH is the same about his turf, but he's really softened up lately. I even had the brooder in the living room by the fireplace the other night. And he was a firm "No chickens in the house!" guy a year ago

well you are doing the right thing separating and restricting movement as long as that limp is ailing her...what feed is she on (and has been on) and also treats and such?

sorry, i can't stand this anymore! my dw and i have been married 12 years and NEVER had a fight. we talked before we got married and we are PARTNERS. she helps me and i do my best to help her. we support each other no matter what we do. she wanted chicks and i immediately started planning the coop. she does more things than i could ever match and i appreciate it all. (think i'm a wimp? the karate class i taught may want to differ).

I would put the chickens in the house, In the bedroom on his side. And then if things got really bad I would make him a roast chicken for dinner and hide the hen and be all like "Is this better? Are you happy now?" And storm off crying.

I think we all get bent out of shape when other's things start to take over...My oldest has a great saying:

'If it is YOUR junk --it's good junk!
IF it is someone else's junk it crap' (Not the correct word -but you get the idea!)

Rich, no one thinks you are a wimp==just wish others would be so nice. It isn't just men--my mother was the same way about all my dad's animals. Mom was never an animal lover--and she would always be in a mood about dad'
