I'm so sorry for your loss. I am somewhat in the same position. My husband passed away almost two years ago while we were working on this house. He wanted chickens so badly but never got to see them. I had to finish finishing up this house by myself. Then I put together a steel storage shed kit that he bought before he passed away. Then I built a chicken coop by myself, without anybody to guide me, just remembering how he would have done it, how my late father would have done it. Today a little chick hatched out. More eggs are peeping under the momma. Life goes on Vicky. Just take one day at a time. If I lived close by I would love to help you.

What a beautiful coop, and what a terrible loss! I am actually crying after reading your post.

It does sound like there is a BYC family in your town who would help you finish what your husband started for you. I wish you all the best, and hope you'll keep us posted. Wow!
