Thought I'd post some photos of my Ideal chicks as they grow. Here are some photos of them on their first outing outdoors. I have EEs, Barnevelders, Welsummers (only 1 in this group), Partridge Rocks, Columbian Wyandottes, and Speckled Sussex.
#1 The group - listening as my dog passed by:

#2 The group shortly after I put them out:

#4 An EE:

#5 More EEs:

#6 Speckled Sussex:

#7 Barnevelder (left) and Partridge Rock (The only one so far with a crossed beak - and deviated to the left - but she is the friendliest and most curious of all the chicks. The beak started out normal looking and developed this way.)

#8 Speckled Sussex with sleeping Partridge Rock:

#9 Welsummer in foreground - she was hard to photo - always moving!

Yes - I have to look closely at many of them to tell who they are - but the Barnies are the most stand-offish and the PRs are the friendliest! My favorites change from week to week for different reasons!

Me, too!

The Columbian Wyandotte is beautiful.

I lost quite a few of the chicks in this shipment, sadly. They shipped replacements a week later - but no more Columbian Wyandottes were available until later. So, instead of 5, I only have 2. They replaced with Buff Wyandottes.

I was hoping they would help me with the garden by eating down the grass in the garden path! And thanks- I am pleased with them. I wanted to try several different breeds at the same time to see which I might prefer - so far I like them all!!

They look like they died and went to heaven with all those greens! They are very cute!

Great Pics!!! I call my two week olds "little raptors" when they are hunting bugs I put in the brooder. Its so fun to watch!
