I see you were able to get her out, but for future readers yes hens can hatch eggs in winter. Thier own feather coats keep them warm and the hen keeps the eggs warm. I have had winter hatches on more than one occasion. The biggest challenge I find is providing a chick safe water when they hatch. The small waters freeze solid very quickly in the single digits (F).
 
I was very worried about the water and the hen. She was shivering and it hadn't even hit 30F yet. She went up to roost with her flockmates and cuddled right up.
