Hi! I'm HawaiiAraucanas. I'm A young, learning, Pre-Chickenkeeper that lives in Hawaii.

Currently I have no chickens, But I am planning to very soon Puchase Two Araucana hen chicks. My mother basically grew up on a farm (or regularly visited my Great Grandparents' farm) that had chickens. She also personally owned her own chickens too. Me and my parents just purchased an new house that we are currently renovating, once we move in; Chickens.
I Have never owned chickens before (neither has my dad), so I am completely new to this chicken owning community, if you have any tips or suggestions on coops, food, bedding and Incubating and hatching chicks please let me know.
I am new to owning chickens but not to animals in general. I have Two Mice, three fish, two snails, and I take care of this neighborhood stray cat sometimes too. I ride horses on Sunday's at an island barn. At that barn where I ride there are MANY chickens, mostly Araucanas.

That's all for now. If I have any news I will post a new thread and tell you guys about it. Thank you! :)

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

I definitely agree with sourland here, get 3 chicks instead of 2. Not all chicks make it to adulthood and this way 1 would not be alone should something happen to the other.

Good luck and welcome to our group! :)
