I ordered my first chickens since childhood two years ago. A lady gave me some chickens and dogs killed them all but an old red rooster and a game hen. I ordered twelve silver laced winged wyandottes. Some died the following winter and the next spring all of my nice friends and neighbors gave me roosters. All kinds of them. Violence ensued and to make a long story less I gave up and kept an old red rooster and a game hen for pets. I got a pair of ducks. They were fun; muscovies the two of them. The hen was missing the next day. Wally, the drake, moved into the chicken house. I got the plans here. I called it wally world. This summer I traded eight ducks for eight austrolorps and sold 44 ducks for 103 dollars.
I have a german shepherd/chow cross who killed twelve of my chickens and Leroy who is a small 14 lb dog; weenie dog/jack russel cross. I like wood carving and other things like bushcraft and I am retired. I found this site by looking around.
