I tried to be patient. I tried to be understanding. I tried to be positive. But it didn't help. - This is all one shipment that kept getting messed up.... All I wanted was my Orloffs.
First shipment - was suppose to ship around the week of July 13th. I ordered Orloffs, cuckoo maren, and white leghorn. They didn't come. They were shipped on August 4th. I received them on August 5th - 4 DOA and 1 died the next day. This was out of 12 birds. Very upsetting. Looks like I lost RIRs, leghorns, and a maren. I contacted the hatchery. I don't think I have any Orloffs in my remaining birds. I contact them almost every day with pictures and updates. Finally, they say I have 3 speckled sussex and no orloffs. They are going to make it right and re-ship my order with Orloffs and they are also going to ship me polish. I'm am so very happy! I go out and buy wood and supplies. Time to make a new coop for my new polish
. My Orloffs can stay with my other girls but my polish will want a covered run and not want their crest feathers pulled out. I'm so excited - Orloffs and Polish!!!! How so wonderful!!!
Ship date - August 25th. I call my postoffice daily starting on Monday of that week to remind them of my shipment. I call Nature's Hatchery and email to verify that it will go out and on Wednesday, that it did go out. Thursday, the 26th - no birds. I call the post office 3 times. I call and email Nature's Hatchery to let them know. They say it should be there tomorrow (Friday the 27th). Friday the 27th - I call the postoffice at 730, 830 and 1030 - no birds. I call/email Nature's Hatchery again. I ask them to track my order. They say it sometimes takes 3 days. I'm in a panic now. I am worried the birds won't make 3 days but what am I to do but wait. Saturday, August 28th - I do my 3 phone calls to my post office. No chicks. I'm in tears now. They will not make it to Monday. Nature's Hatchery is closed. I leave a message and email them. Monday the 30th - I call my postoffice. No birds. I call Nature's Hatchery - they finally try to track my chicks down - and find it. It never made it out of St. Louis. The mailing label was damaged and the birds were never shipped. They died in the box. I cry... a lot.
Nature's Hatchery says "this never happens I am so sorry. We will re-ship next week - it would never happen twice". I say OK trying to be understanding through my sadness.
Ship date - September 1st. I call my postoffice on Friday, Monday and Tuesday to remind them I have an order being shipped on Wednesday. I call Nature's Hatchery and verify that the order will be shipped. I call them again on Wednesday to make sure it was shipped. I call my postoffice to let them know it was shipped and I should have my chicks hopefully on Thursday and maybe on Friday. Thursday I call my post office 3 times (7am, 830 and 10). NO CHICKS. Panic. Worry. I call Nature's Hatchery - they say again, they will come on Friday. I call my postoffice on Friday 3 times (700, 800, 930). NO CHICKS. WHAT. OH NO - NOT AGAIN. CRY SOME. I call Nature's Hatchery and let them know. I email them. I'm in a panic. I am afraid it's a repeat of last week. I tell them to FIND MY CHICKS. They call me. The post office up north calls me. My package has been opened and damaged. Dead chicks. Again. I can NOT believe this. I am so upset. I cry a lot again. And then cry some more. This is just horrible.
So, I am getting a full refund. Not what I wanted. All I wanted was my Orloffs, and now my Polish. I am so upset.
They said after shipping twice, they cancel the order because there is something wrong with the shipping from them to me. It's not MY postoffice. It's somewhere in between. Now... get this... it's not that they care about the birds because they are just stopping my shipment for now while they look into the problem... they are not stopping all the shipments to Georgia even though the problem is up there. Oh... that makes sense.
Nature's Hatchery guarantees 100% live delivery. It's on their website. I had 2 shipments with 0% live birds and one at 67% that didn't even have what I ordered in there.
I just wanted to share my experience in hopes that I can help others avoid this heartache.
All I wanted was my Russian Orloffs and Polish.
