They are so gorgeous.

I find that my young ducks are a bit loud for a while once they live outside permanently- But usually because they are hungry in the morning. I just go out and feed them - and they are quiet again. The morning quacking usually only lasts a month at most, and then they settle down again.

Good to know that they will stop because they are quite loud and high pitched in the mornings until i get them fed. Was getting a bit worried it is going to carry on....Thanks duckyfromoz

Don't worry about training them. I believe that they will train YOU.

Such great pics of their youth. We'd love to see more as time goes by.

Finally I have a bit of time and motivation to update a few pics. They are now 3 month and 14 days old. I worked out that I had 3 drakes and 2 ducks from my little flock. I have since sold my swedish blue duck to go with the extra khaki campbell drake to a collegue who has 2 1/2 acre land and they are loving it there.

This is a picture of them at 8 weeks old having a bath.

This is Hayley at 10 weeks. She has a different colouring to the rest. I do hope that she will keep her patterns as they are quite pretty.

This is Skip at 12 weeks. He is the friendliest of the lot and very cunning and curious. He can jump up a two foot high retainer wall, hence the name. I could hardly contain him in the pen with the rest to start with until I added another plank to stop him from getting out. As you can see he is quite happy sitting on my hand and be handled.

This is my flock, 4 khakis and a white indian runner drake (Cory). I still have 3 drakes and 2 female. I still need to find a khaki drake a home to go to.
Their names are (the girls) Hayley and Piper, (the males) Cory, Skip and Bruno.
They just love sitting under the fruit trees all day after their bath. I am in the process of fencing off my "orchard" to allow them to free range underneath it though it is not big.
