My ladies don't lay any eggs!!

Yogurt is degestible because it already has active cultures in it that cause the milk sugars to be mostly metabolized already. I know this because I'm lactose intolerant, but can eat yogurt for the same reason that chickens can... weird...

Jim, I'd steer away from the powdered milk if I were you. My understanding is that chooks lack the ability to properly digest milk products (except for yogurt, which apparently is somewhat digestible to them). Others can chime in and correct me if I am wrong, or explain better why this is so.

Thanks! I'll do some investigating and see what others here say. We use about a quarter cup for a quart of water in the mash mix we give them. If thats a problem we'll work around it. I've not seen anything out of the ordinary though since we started doing it. We do give them yougart on a regular basis.

I will look into it though. Thanks again.

I don't think you need to worry at all. My 7 hens did not start laying eggs until they were about 6 months old. I feed them Layena pellets in their feeder and chicken scratch (cracked corn and oats) in their run. They have completely shut down down for the winter and I haven't gotten an egg in over a month. It's the short days and I expect they will start laying again in the spring. Also, I think yours look like my 2 Golden Sex Links (Bisquit and Nugget-same name as yours

milk will give them diarrhea and which can be bad if you do it too much but like once a month could be good for them to flush out there system little idk i have no experience i just had a chicken i thought had cocci and ppl suggested dairy products to flush it out (didnt rly have cocci just miscolored poo from eating berrys cuz they free range without any fence)

as for post it is a golden commet looks exactly like my 9 golden commets and it is kinda tricky to get some chickens to lay in the winter i have 9 commets and a leghorn in my laying flock and get 4-6 eggs a day

Very exciting news everyone!

I was doing some house cleaning in the coop today and found an egg that had been left over night!!!!! I wasn't sure if it was Beaks or Nugget, but it was tasty all the same!

As i continued a little upgrade to the nesting boxes Beaks jumped in for a test run and right then and there doped me an egg
