My ladies love me!

Since my BR hens started laying, they have gotten so lovey dovey!! Anyone else experience this? They used to stay just out of arms reach and if I took a step towards them, they would take two steps away. Except when I had a head of lettuce in my hand!

Now when they are free ranging, as soon as they spy me or hear me they come flocking towards me for some petting and attention. It's so cute!! I love them extra now that I'm getting 6-7 eggs a day from the seven hens. Especially since it's 17 degrees with 20 inches of snow here! I'm such a proud chicken mommy!

Hahaha, I echo your sentiments completely! My ladies were pretty skiddish pre-laying, never mean, just not that into me (haha, also unless I was carrying treats) now as soon as I pull into my driveway they come running from the far reaches of our property for some lovin (also probably expecting treats, but it still pleases me to no end!)

Eggzactly the same here although 3 of our 6 were always freindly!

YEP!!! Even my cochins were very stand offish until just recently when they started laying...now they are puppies!!!
