IMG_0801.JPG IMG_0803.JPG she is acting normal but has a massive crop in the front of her. it fells normal but is really big. do I give apple cider vinegar or what is going on.

It could be she's simply a big eater, and her crop is stuffed with her piggish pursuits. However, she could be the victim of pendulous crop. This is where the chest muscles don't support the crop well enough to permit it to empty properly. This sets her up for crop issues such as impacted crop and sour crop.

To be sure she is actually experiencing crop issues, you need to set your alarm for pre-dawn and go out and feel her crop while she's still roosting. If the crop is full, then you know you're going to need to deal with a crop issue, maybe several at once.

Come back after you've done this early morning check, and we'll take it from there with further advice.

X2 LOL Carol you do have a way with words! I agree, check her crop at bedtime (you can tell by looking at her it's full) then first thing in the morning to see if the crop has emptied.

I have a 6mo White Leghorn that definitely has piggish pursuits - she's such a dainty thing and her crop is something to behold! Her crop is empty every morning and she's the first one to the trough:D

Let's hope your girl is just a good eater - if not, Carol will walk you through the steps to get her straightened out.
Keep us posted.
