My leukemia's back.

Is it alright if I share a bit of good news here? (I feel a bit guilty with all that Rachel and family are going thru now)

Some of you may remember that I am a 10 yr CML "liver" (I hate the word "survivor") and I had my latest oncologist roadtrip (everything for us is a roadtrip  ) yesterday and tho we won't get the quantitative PCR results back until Monday or Tuesday, I had the best CBC and chem panel numbers I've seen in years sooooo, (drumroll) it's looking VERY good that I am still in TFR :clap (treatment free remission), passing the one year mark, which is a big milestone for predicting the likelihood of continuing.

I pray that this happy word will be an encouragement to anyone reading who might not be as far along on their journey.
Like the great news Phil posted about, there are great breakthroughs happening for us almost every day it seems.
Y aaay! Great news from you and Phil. So happy for you. I am finally going in tomorrow for my third ultra sound on my right side. Hoping it won't be the same again. Smaller, we want to see smaller so I can get back to normal mammos..

No big noise but felt I since I did share the initial results of my trip to my onc with team Rachel, I would like to share the final result. The results of the "big" test is back and I am still in treatment free remission. Phil will understand what a miracle that truly is. It was just until recently thought that would not be possible for those with CML to ever stop taking the tki drugs that kept the leukemia process at bay. I also received good news from my internist yesterday. I have also succeeded in my quest to go off the drugs and control the T2 diabetes thru diet and exercise for an entire year and got the ok to remain off until my next apt in 6 months. I think being able to stop taking the chemo drugs that were damaging my pancreas had a lot to do with it.
This is great news!

Phil..i had said a while back that I would share some fishing photos with you .. and all. This is our son with a .. ahem. .
Tiger fish. I know it's a Tiger something. :D. Anyway, have a photo of our daughter with one too. Also, a nice huge trout she caught. Here is this one for now.

Feeling a bit stunned this evening.....we received word that a dear friend, the best man in our wedding, was the victim of a brutal, senseless murder. Freaking suspect called him, "that other guy "in a police interview..... that "other guy" was a father, a friend, a veteran.....and so much more. Fair winds and following seas, Jimmy
