My leukemia's back.

Is it possible that lymph node transplants could help? This is new apparently so your Dr.s may not know about it yet
. No lymph issues, thank goodness. But it's a great thought.

My infection more like cellulitis with small subcutaneous abscesses that won't heal. I have pictures of me with the catheters in that would help explain things, but they show a bit more skin than is appropriate for BYC. :p

Over 3+ miles of gravel road here to the nearest blacktop, then four miles to the nearest town and about two more miles to the nearest interstate. I wish it was farther. But unfortunately the only way to reach the nearest city is via the interstate so we are stuck with 4 lanes in our lives at least part of the time.

Unfortunately, lots of bad accidents on the 4 lane.

@FridayYet, I'm so sorry. I know that won't make things better for you. IV antibiotics are not fun and having catheters invading your body is even less fun, compound that having to deal with this over the holidays.

Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.

I went back 4 or 5 pages trying to catchup so please forgive my lack of information but have they done cultures and sensitivities on your infection? Do you know what bug you are fighting?

Luckily the catheters have been gone for 3 months, but the tracts they left are what became infected. We've aspirated twice, but cultures were negative both times. So frustrating!

At least it stays localized, no fevers or spreading. It just dies down when I'm on antibiotics, then a week later flares back up again. :he

:he Indeed.

Were you on antibiotics when you did the cultures or off? That would make a difference in whether you get normal flora growth or a bunch of creepy crawlies in your petri dish.

Make sure you are taking a good pro-biotic and pushing the live culture yogurt while on antibiotics. Your gut will thank you.

I learned that one the hard way while fighting Lyme disease. I still take pro-biotics religiously.

I think one off and one on. Kind of all blurs together now.

Yup, probiotics, grass fed, pasture raised organic plain yogurt, fermented pickles, prebiotic fiber, etc. Plus vitamin C and my random other supplements. I eat no sugar, no processed foods either.

Guess I could try castor oil packs or black salve to burn it out as a last resort

Good grief girl!

You could always do my old stand by. Strip naked, paint yourself purple, stand on a hill and swing a dead chicken over your head. What can it hurt?

I'm looking at seeing a rheumatologist in the future. My doc suspects that I have developed Rheumatoid Arthritis. I'm having lots of trouble with joint pain and strange nodules on my joints.
