My leukemia's back.

Okay, just got an update from mom....

They are going to drop him on 2medications to help his heart, and also going to shrink the clot.

But dad went and saw him and he is alert and fiesty.

Not out of the dirt yet but he may be able to come home by Sunday! :wee
They can do much now, so glad they got this on time!

DH has also been sick. I haven't seen him this sick in years. Finally doing better. He had that cough that .. would..not.. stop. I did finally talk him into going to the doc. I told him I know there is no cure for this, but there is a wonderful cough syrup that will at least help you sleep. ;) Yep, finally slept, after 3 nights of practically no sleep. It's been an extra mean flu season all over the country. Prayers for all of those in need. Serious, I think of you all often. This is a great place to come and share our difficulties. Knowing helps, to see we aren't alone, we aren't given anything we can't handle without the Lord's help, and, to receive help, prayers, and encouragement from others.. that are actually going through something I couldn't even imagine going through. So many great examples on this site. Showing us how to live life at it's fullest, the best we can regardless of what we are going through. donrae, as she was lovingly known on byc, started something wonderful here. Little did she know how helpful this site she started would be.

HAPPY Anniversary Blooie! 50, that's great!!

Thank you so much! I know full well how blessed we have been. Kinda funny when, after 50 years of marriage, we still look at each other and talk about our futures!

Amen! Rachel gave us more than a thread. She gave us laughter and joy. She anchored us. I know that she was incredibly supportive and loving when our little Ashley was diagnosed with leukemia. There were the bad times when Ash's family back home was being overwhelmed and they'd mention some blood count or drug. Rachel would explain to me what all of that meant so that I didn't have to contact the kids and ask. Oh, how many "inside" jokes did we share here? How many losses, illnesses, and victories did we share? The remarkable thing is that months after losing her, we still haven't lost her, if that makes any sense. She's giggling over posts, commiserating and sympathizing, giving an occasional kick in the hiney when we need it, and she's doing it through the keyboards of us, her friends. How many of us can say that our simple lives have made such a profound impact on others? I think of her often and I'm so grateful to her and to her family, for being so open with us and sharing such a personal time with us. She humbles me.
