My leukemia's back.

I am done with going to my PT! I am to keep exercising at home, take my time slowing down. Then, on to my other shoulder. Will probably be in the late fall again, if I can wait that long. Had another shot, hope it lasts a while.
Hey, I see some good news, some ok, news, and some really good news on here! I'm so happy things seem to be going well enough for you all. Prayers always. I've been having fun on the Easter Hatch A Long. Cap, saw your great random post!!! So excited for you.
And, like Blooie said, still waiting on some news..Blooie..waiting..on your news. I missed out somehow on this swallowing problem. I have a couple of sons that have problems with their throats. One son gets a Botox shot every three months. Hmm..maybe I did say something to you, now that I am typing this..sound familiar? That son has problems with speaking. Muscle Dysphonia. Shows itself in different ways. I actually have it. Mine was caused from having my neck fused years ago. They push all of the front aside, to get to the back of the neck. Another son doesn't get the shots..yet. He does have a problem with swallowing..and had to hurry and get to an urgent care, because his throat was swelling. Actually was a close call. He's been doing pretty good since he got the shot of good ol steroid. Anyway, I hope they find out why you are going through this throat problem.
Prayers as usual.
It seems that the old school med is helping a bit for my DH. He is back to where he was before using the other med. He still has his good days and bad of course. But he's still mostly my Scotty Man as I lovingly call him. :)
I have my mentally handicapped sister over for a sleep over. She always brings a smile to our faces. I love her cute little chuckle. I am guardian of her. She is the baby of 5 of us. I the oldest, her the youngest, but, you don't let her hear you say that she is the baby. She will tell you that she is NOT a baby. lol... And, you are NOT old, until you are 100 years old. Alrighty then. Guess we are all doing well to have reached the age we have. :) :D

Good morning, Cynthia! Oh, this swallowing thing goes back to last May, just before my sister Linda died. Couldn't eat anything but a 4 ounce cup of yogurt (after I picked the fruit out) and sips of water for a couple of weeks because my throat swelled so badly. Prednisone is known to have that effect on older women and I already had a documented sensitivity to it previously. Swallowing hasn't been right since.

Every time I think my plate is full, I look at my friends and realize that it ain't even close! I have looked up to you since the first day you introduced me to Richard, and I got to know you better through him and Kendra. Now that feeling is even stronger. No matter what's happening in your life, you maintain your strong faith and your compassion for others. When I grow up, I wanna be just like you!

Ahh shucks. You are a great example here Blooie! And, you just taght me something about prednisone! I didn't know it caused problems in us older ladies. Last time I had to take it, I do know that it made me grumpy. Poor Scott .. and the dogs. Once I remembered that the Dr had warned me, and Scott, how it could make me feel, I went and made my apologies to all. :D

Wonderful, hope you don't mind my pinning these posts. You've just saved me a lot of time getting my packing list lined up for a cross country trip including 2 graduations and a few casinos and camping with a 3 bag limit!
:hugs ...shoes are space hogs though.
You don't need much. Even if you went to only one casino and went every day no one would notice if you wore the same thing every time. And as long as you bring money, they won't remark on the camping boots ;)

Now, don't get all worried and stuff. Throat swelling IS one of the known effects of Prednisone in older women, BUT certainly not in all older women, and I already had a known sensitivity to it. If you need it, and they prescribe it, know that grumpiness is a much more likely side effect than throat closing!

Thou scoffeth, good sirrah...however one year Ken and I were deer hunting around Fort Randall in South Dakota. We were tired, sore, and most of all hungry, since we had pitched a tent in our chosen area and were too stinking tired to set up the campfire and cook anything. So we jumped in the pickup and headed to Fort Randall Casino. It was a Saturday night, too....All-You-Can-Eat-Crab-Legs. We walked in there in orange cammo, hunting boots, our hunting knives still strapped to our hunting belts, and parked it. Enjoyed a lovely dinner among the, um, better dressed set. Hey, it was South Dakota during hunting season....nobody batted an eye!

Morning Team Rachel :frow

Hugs & prayers for you @tastyacres I hope you can find some relief soon.
Thank you, Debby!

Praying for your healing, TA. Are you drinking enough? Perhaps add an extra qt. of water to your daily routine? Are the head aches cyclic in nature, more frequent any time during a typical month? Have you done a food/activity HA log to see if there are any triggers? Are you getting enough sleep? Perhaps see a nutritionist. You are very right in that they could be related to a prior head injury. But, even then, there may be some things that can be done. A skilled physical therapist (not me) may be able to treat some underlying craniosacral, alignment, connective tissue issues.
Thank you, LG! I am working my way to drinking enough... I started a couple months ago with 2-quarts and trying to work my way to 3. I get them very randomly... But I'm supposed to start recording them so Doctors can know more of what I may be dealing with. Well, on the topic of seeing a nutritionist is possibly an idea, but at this rate we are doing the "new west diet" so after were done with this it might just be a good idea to see what I may need. I really looking into a skilled physical therapist! As Dr.G may just be able to help with that.
:wee Yay, my biopsy was benign! I can't believe it!:wee
YAYA!!!!! :thumbsup
