My leukemia's back.

We sure like her, and believe it or not, because they are usually so low energy she eats less than our other dogs did. HOWEVER - I have never, ever seen a dog eat as fast as she does, and I raised, trained and showed big dogs for years, worked in 3 different kennels and 3 animal hospitals!! Never!! For instance, I am working on restraining her until I tell her it's okay to eat. So i snapped on her leash and put her on a sit/stay while holding on. Ken put her food in the bowl. I waited a few seconds and then released her. I went to the sink, washed my hands, and she was done. Yep. Done. Every kernel. I called her breeder and asked her if this was typical, worried of course about her eating so fast. IWH are prone to bloat. She said every owner who got puppies has had the same question, and yep, for them it's normal. They aren't food aggressive - Fiona isn't either - but she said she made the mistake of feeding the mom and the whole litter at once, and they quickly learned to gobble while it was there. She assured me that once she figures out she has no competition for food, she'd stop that but I don't think so. The other puppies went to their new homes at 8 weeks so it wasn't as ingrained a behavior as it is in our 17 week old pup. But she'll learn. She might be bigger, but I'm smarter and I have never let a dog dictate it's own behavior! That control is even more essential when you have a dog the size of a linebacker! :lau

@getaclue It's a guy thing, at the risk of being ostracized for discrimination. If men had to clean house daily they'd invent riding vacuum cleaners!
I'm having the same problem with our new pup! He eats/laps food up way too fast. I've also worked on his... waiting. He's doing great at 11 1\2 weeks old. I have him sit, then wait, holding my hand facing him, then say come and point to the food. 1..2...3..4...its gone. I am feeding him several times a day. I don't even want to think how much he could eat at once. Scary thought.

Good morning Team :frow

Just wondering about something...When I was a little kid, Memorial Day was for fixing up the graves and putting new flowers out. Does anyone still do that? Seems like the people I hear talking about MD, look forward to it as a long weekend with time for camping, yard work, etc.
Went today instead of tomorrow..will be crazy, even in our small town. It is growing though! Anyway, we've had a lot of military in this little town. Took a photo of the flags put up.

Whew, caught up. There Diva, do I get dessert for not cheating... skipping ahead? :D Still having problems with C Pap mask. Makes the third one. He said he would call me Tuesday to see how I did. Wish I had good news. Bruce, was it you that said you were awake more because of adjusting the thing? Yep. What's this dentist thing you are talking about? Is it for folks that snore?

Good morning Team Rachel.

Sour, you always have such interesting, positive messages with your good morning posts. Thank you.

Diva, if Cynthia doesn't want the pudding cup, I'll eat hers.

Cynthia, maybe the full mask isn't right for you. Don't they make one that doesn't cover the full face?

Thanks, @getaclue, I try to stay positive and for the most part life has blessed us well enough that I should. Today I need a little help from all of you. One of our grand daughters was diagnosed with Lupus as a 5 year old. It's been an up and down mostly positive journey for her. Around 16 she developed Lupus Nephritis and nearly died. Things have gone well for her since then. She came home from college with weight loss and a bad sore throat. Doctor suspected Strep so took a culture and put her on antibiotics. Long story short - she's dealing with a Lupus flare up that is causing lesions and infection in her throat. She's been in ICU since Friday, and she is 'responding well', Whatever the H that means. We are not allowed to visit, and being unable to help/fix is killing me. What a horrible disease that causes your body to attack itself. Please pray for Jennifer.
