Or...I know...just pecan pie!

I've seen some recipes for a chocolate pecan pie too but never made one.

That is good too.

But most pecan pie asks for too much sugar... I usually cut the sugar.

Your right Alaskan- when they are too sweet - my teeth hurt. I want to be able to taste the pecans.

We have a chain of "Baker's Square" pies, all day breakfast food and some entrees.
Pies are fantastic - breakfast food top notch - the entrees not so much. In the olden days when I was dating, the chain was called "Poppin' Fresh," after the Pillsbury Doughboy.

The numbers have dwindled but, we still have 3 within decent driving distance.

It's ok, but my favorite for T-giving is pecan. Unfortunately DH won't touch the stuff. And definitely do not need a whole pecan pie to myself.

We're just going to stick with a turkey breast and baked sweet potatoes mostly. And the pie.

I'm trying to figure out why that's a problem... It's my favorite, but I also have two sons and my mother that also love it. Mom is the official pecan pie maker in our family. She often makes two.

NFC, I agree with your Dh. I won't touch pecan pie either. My mother actually won blue ribbons at the county fair for her pecan, and strawberry pies. I wouldn't touch either of them. She'd make and donate a few of them whenever there were bake sales for our church, cub scouts, girl scouts, etc. People would buy them up quick, and comment how lucky I was to have a mother that could bake such delicious pies.

That sounds about right GAC. I've had a lot of people tell me they enjoy my breads and even baked all the sandwich buns for the restaurant last year. My boys won't touch them. Nothing but store-bought bread for them!
