My leukemia's back.

It's our handsome little cyber-nephew B!

Where are you today?

Believe it or not, I’m home. Well, kinda sorta. Right now I’m sitting in the waiting room at the clinic. Recheck on my back went okay, not good but okay. Now I’m waiting to get my flu and pneumonia shots. Doctor wants to put me on Tramadol. I don’t WANT to take another pill. I have to let him know my decision as soon as possible. I don’t hurt too badly standing or laying down, but sitting is miserable, and that’s about all I’ve been doing. We put 2900+ miles on poor Shrek in a week and half and never left the state. That’s a lot of sitting. Then sitting at dinners and banquets. He also wants to do a consult with a back surgeon. Um, no, and when in the heck can I squeeze that in? Anyone have any experience with Tramadol? Good? Bad? Make you loopy?

You remembered his name Blooie...he's 2 weeks old today.

Of course I remembered his name! He’s our cyber-nephew!! He’s so stinkin’ cute! Hope his mom is getting better.

At the Cancer Treatment Center where I was treated, they had signs above the toilets saying "CLOSE LIB BEFORE FLUSHING" to trap those aerosols in the toilet instead of letting them disperse throughout the bathroom.

So glad that you are a cancer survivor @LittleLakePhil , sorry that you had to go through that at all. I enjoy your posts and you have alot of knowledge to share.

My husband is known as Andy's Hardware Store. Whenever there is a sale, he stocks up on misc. screws, bolts, nuts, kotter pins, nails, ... He denies it, but I think he owns most tools known to man. Seriously, he does have a nice selection of tools and is handy to have around.
Tools are my life.
Nuff said.

I am so mad! I was telling my family about my SIL's condition and one uncle insists ALL leukemia kills in 5 years or less GUARANTIED. And this side of the family KNOWS EVERYTHING!!!! I told them a classmate has survived it for 25 years, and nope I'm a liar because they are smarter than God!
When I was 15, my best friend was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. As I was talking with someone about it shortly after her diagnosis, that person looked at me and said, “Oh, she’s going to die.” That was almost 40 years ago. She’s married and has two awesome sons. Don’t let the uncle get to you.

I took Tramadol for both hips before I got them replaced. It was great pain relief and didn’t make me loopy. Tired, but not loopy. With the second hip, I’d take 1/2 of one right before I walked out the door to go to school so the tired would’t hit until I got there. It got me through the morning, then I would take another one at lunch to get me through the rest of the day. I’d take a whole one before bed. It relieved the pain and put me out.

I was diagnosed in 1995.... hmmmm
Funny thing is my doctor who treated me came and worked at the VA for a while.
I got to see him.... he saw all my health issues.... lord at me and said. "Your problem is you lived to long"....
About floored me.
He went in to explain that we that got those primitive bone marrow transplants were only expected tti survive 10 years.... meeting was over 20 years ago.
Basically they knew the treatment was gonna DO a lot of lasting damage to the body.
So I'm guessing I wouldn't be a world of knowledge when it comes to more modern transplants.
But they probably learned a lot from people like me.
I aways remember them saying.... we don't know what's gonna happen.... or we don't know what would happen if you did this or that.

Thank you. I’ll call him today after the sun comes up.
