My leukemia's back.

Okay so maybe he will never run for president that doesn't make him a washout. Look how many in office have the very same problems? I'm not being flippant. Given all he would qualify for if he returns to school, finding a career he can handle could make a huge difference in his life.

Most of all he is not a slacker, he is doing the best he can, at this point in time. :hugs

True... thanks.

Al, there are several jobs that he can make a very decent living from vocational training. A/C installation/repair, and plumbing are two that come to mind. Security system installers make good money too. Tell him to take advantage of all the extras that the school has to offer. Some of those things are really beneficial, and can help him a lot, if he'll take advantage of them.

Floored.... eldest kid's test results:

If he returns to school, he would qualify for accommodations, such as tutoring, special testing situations, extra time to complete assignments or take tests, etc. He might benefit from vocational rehabilitation services, as he may not be suitable for normal employment situations. He would have a disadvantage in jobs that require speed, much memory and new learning, writing and math skills, and customer service. He should focus on his strengths, i.e. reading skills. Counseling is recommended to increase interpersonal skills and psychological insight. He might also benefit from life skills training, to increase independent living skills and financial management. DIAGNOSIS: F80.0 Speech Sound Disorder F90.2 ADHD, Combined Type F81.81 Specific Learning Disorder with impairment in written expression (spelling accuracy, writing fluency) F81.2 Specific Learning Disorder with impairment in mathematics (math fluency) Autism Spectrum Disorder (Asperger’s) traits.
There is a lot of hope in that report!

:hugs He should get as much help as possible and will be very likely to live independantly

PS except for all the cars that shoot down our one block street, get pissed and turn around on my front lawn.
Time for some tire spikes, maybe the police have some old ones they will sell cheap.

bruce, our driveway, goes to our house, and the house next door. The driveway across from ours goes on down to the houses down the way. The neighbor lady is a school bus driver. We take turns buying pea gravel, and the neighbor has the tractor that can keep it all level. Our drive is very well maintained. The driveway across from ours is dirt, has no pea gravel, and is usually full of potholes. The people that live down the way, come in on our driveway, then cross over to the other one. There have been times I've thought about a spike strip, or a couple fence posts. Surprise!

It's not just that they use our drive, it's that they fly down our drive. I've caught it on our surveillance cameras. More than once I've warned the people down the way about it. I have it all on video. I warned our postal lady too.
