The TSC here has chicks again! My family is known in the area as being huggers.
Prayers for health and happiness to my on-line family!
I just came home from the store with 8 chicks. 5 Sapphire Gems and 3 Easter Eggers. I think they will fit nicely into my flock a 7 egg eaters. I told my hens on Monday that if I don't start getting more that 1 egg a day - it will be chicken potpie for them. Yesterday I got 5 for 7, and I am pretty sure my one remaining Sagitta hen is not laying.
There have been a lot of threads on here where that happened! Here too at TSC yesterday. They had a bin claiming to have both Buff Orpingtons and Cornish Cross. I saw a lot of yellow chicks. Either they only had 1 breed in there or the employee better be able to tell the difference because I'd be pretty unhappy if I came home with a bunch of layers that turned out to be meat birds.

True, true.... I keep thinking of that.... as I watch all of these chicks hatch at my place.Ours doesn’t carry them here this late in the season....winter could return in August!![]()
