My leukemia's back.

Honestly, I was shocked my own self. Cause I baked up the excess crust and just ate that with some strawberry jam

.

I think it was more a proportion thing. I made the filling, then saved out a goodly portion for the low carbers. I think there just wasn't enough filling for the pie. I'll have to use the big pot next time and just make more. I kind of cheated anyway, I used a Costco rotisserie chicken and mostly frozen mixed veggies. Sure went together fast!

she puts those fancy little slash marks on top and sprinkles you with sugar before she puts you into bake?
Don't be silly - Sour is already half-baked, and even the Princess wouldn't really want him any way other than that (though I imagine there are many ways in which he gets the message, "well done.")

Rachel, I agree with you most of the time, but I have to say there is no such thing as 'too much crust'.

x1! Extra crust?? Unheard of here! Brush with butter, placed plumped up raisins- microwave in water for a minute & drain, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and nuts of choice on it. Roll up the scraps into a roll. Slice into 2-3" pieces. Bake for 10 minutes. Do the happy food dance-Quietly! So no one knows! Meantime, I am up for chicken pie. Any leftovers???
I would like a pepper,
Phil, for my son , daughter and DH to try! They are always trying to test their limits with heat even if they are crying, tearing up and gulping milk while the rest of us laugh!

Sour, Not if it makes one presentable, IMHO! A little sugar and sprinkles can make it/one look much better! My dh applies it liberally some days. Besides I prefer the heat over the cold. My guys sometimes find me leaning against the hot glass sliding door or leaning over the toaster waiting for the toast on a cold day. You should see the looks they give me when they turn the corner to find me toasting myself with the oven on.

The pot pie was wonderful!

I learned two important things......

Crappy old single wide mobile home kitchens don't have counter space to roll out a large pie crust.

We prefer a one crust pot pie.

I used half butter and half lard. the crust was amazing, there was just too much of it for the amount of filling. I'll just do a top crust in the future. Probably cause we've done the low carb thing for so long, but it was Sugar Monkey who first said there was too much crust. Oh, but it was so light and flaky, just what I've been craving. I have some apples, I may make a mini apple pie

Labs today, Dr appt tomorrow. need to clean out the outside refrigerator and I have a cabinet inside to clean out. Return overdue library books, go to Wal-Mart, cook beans, thaw out something for dinner. gonna be a good day!
When I make the 3 cup recipe, I can roll it out real thin, and get 3 crusts out of it. That way, when I make pie, I feel as though I'm not being quite so sinful.
