Nice fish Phil you know I love my fishing I went to see my Gunieas at the cabin and they are all doing well. Here are some pictures. I returned to find that I have anemia.... oh brother! I had a blood transfusion last Tuesday... something about your iron should be a 12-16 and mine was a 6... when I got to the hospital it was a 5, they said if I reached a 4 I could check out with a heart attack. It was an eye opener. After the transfusion my iron was a 7.4 ... I hope it took! I find out tomorrow with another test. Since I am house bound I have been tying some flys. Do you fly fish? Not to be off the subject. I feel I know you all.

Okay, It is hitting me as bad as it gets.. I want to incubate chicks and chicken math is overtaking me. I can have only hens! Anyone know about the hatching ratio from female to male chicks? I am about to purchase a dozen eggs of 4 different heritage breeds and put them in an incubator of another local chicken friend. She just bought a cabinet incubator and had it delivered to a friend's house so the man of the house wouldn't see the invoice!

LOL! Yeah, she would fit right in with this crew!

It is a game of chance--like flipping a coin. Usually you get a 60\40 split though. Sometimes more cockerels and sometimes more pullets. I have had all pullets hatch once though. I have never had all cockerels but I have read about that.

Make a plan for the cockerels. My plan is to process them.

Hope you feel better....I was anemic growing up....always getting my blood drawn.....well that didn't change when I got older either.....I was on a drug called Unitenic (spelling?) Growing up to bring my iron levels up.

I will most likely be at work when they get here, or when post office calls. Hubby will pick them up, or intersect them at the door, whichever happens. You know, I'll post pics though!

Pinky, I wish we could hook up and transfuse you with some of my blood. I've had so many transfusions over the course of my treatment, my body isn't expelling the excess iron and I've been running at almost toxic high levels. I was taking daily infusions of a medication to help break it down for months......We could balance each other out

hb--I hear you on the incubation fever! I'd wanted to get the incubator out yesterday, but wound up running a fever and had to go to the urgent care to get a work up. They didn't find anything but did do blood cultures so I won't know on those for a few days. I'm just paranoid with the biopsy coming up, I don't need to have anything brewing in my system if they're doing something invasive like that. Feeling better today, we'll see what the day holds!

Rachel, on this side of the states there seem to be several one day 'flus' running around. Everything from digestive tract to respiratory to just feeling lousy. Hopefully that's what you are dealing with.
