My leukemia's back.

Rachel, sorry to hear the increase in Prednisone didn't help. Rest is a good fix for just about everything, hope it works for you.

And yes...the summer just flew by!

Your smile for today is courtesy of granddaughter Kendra. Now, remember that she is mostly non-verbal (although she knows lots of words and sings entire songs) and she doesn't communicate or converse.

We had some pumpkins from the garden out on the countertop. Kendra saw them and squealed, "Punkins!" Then she crawled over to the counter, pulled herself up, and grabbed one by the stem. The little bristles on the stem "bit" her.

With a totally surprised look on her face she turned to me and said, "Eez locked!"

How cute!

Debby, my sugar is up a bit and it causes some blurry vision. I was reading your post where you said " Rest is a good fix for just about everything".....but my eyes saw the first word as Pasta

. Yep, that still works!

Actually, that's sort of a "fill in the blank" kind of statement so feel free to substitute pasta/shopping/stiff drink, etc. for whatever makes it all better, lol. Napping is what works best for me because I'm gluten intolerant so I'll choose "rest"!

Blooie- What about a zip line type apparatus using a seat hammock using block and tackle to slide her across the line? Man, I wish I could post a picture of one of those single seat type hammocks that you hang from a 2x4 and then a gently sloped line on a pulley!
Went to the job interview and it seemed to go well so now to see if I get called back. Wait and see.... Meantime I just ordered a screen after waiting for one and dd saying "Oh, well, I didn't order you one because I couldn't figure out how to pay for it.'' '

Meantime I have open job postings with application deadlines! Mine also does not plug into another screen or monitor either.
Looks like my girls are safe for now in their current home! What a relief. But do have a possible back up if needed. Thank you God!

I"m seeing it now---a "Reality" show, where they have different teams compete to Find the Best Way to Get Kendra in the House. You'd have the Redneck Guy team, the Mommy team, the Therapist team, and a team of British guys, who no one could figure out exactly why they were there
roll.png
They'd rig life size/weight models of Kendra and experiment with them.....anyone else watch Bones? I'm thinking back when Hodges et al ran the frozen pig through the woodchipper......maybe not a woodchipper but I see Kendra models hurtling through the air, hummingbirds frantically trying to get out of the way....chickens in the run rolling their eyes......and then Ken and Katie would come up with a simple, genius, basically free idea and win the whole shebang

Okay, there's my fantasy for the morning......reality is going to be butchering a few cockerels. I'd like to get 4 or so done, but not sure how many the hands can take. 2 for sure, and they we'll see how things go. I also got my sewing machine kind of set up yesterday, and was looking at some really cute jean apron patterns this morning. Might have to work on one of those. I've not really sewed in years and years, so I'll have to see how much comes back. It's probably like riding a bike, right?
