Did you know today is my 19th birthday.... Yup 19 years ago today i had my bone marrow transplant.... Actually 19 years to the minute.

Happy Birthday, Phil (though I'm a day late -- story of my life, lol).

Rachel and Phil, you both humble me. I'm so glad I know you, but so sorry you have to face all this. Phil, Happy Birthday, my friend. What a twist - you had the "birthday", but we got the gift!

That is such a great way of putting it, Blooie -- you have such a way with words!

Worrying about trying to get in to look at a house on the market isn't helping. Our buyer's agent's wife just had a baby, so he's taking some time off. The rest of his team is covering, but they're stretched thin. The market moves so fast here, I'm afraid we're going to just be too late. We've had multiple places get offers accepted before we even get out to look at them (mostly the delays have been due to Honey's work schedule), so we're concerned about that. Really trying to pray and trust God has a place for us (especially with these cows being here!) to go to soonly.

Oh, Rachel, such a frustrating situation. The right place is out there and I hope you find it SOON!!!!

I know what you mean about being closer to family making the move worth it. Once we moved to WY, we're now within 1 hour of my favorite cousin and 2.5 hours of my brother. Really nice to be able to get together easier.

Thanks, Blooie -- and yes, I did enjoy it very much. We have spent more time together in the last three months than we did in the previous 16 years!!

We had buyers driving from Boise for some of our cows. I had three very specific prayers..

Let us have good weather.
Let no one get injured.
Let the buyers be happy with the cattle.

Well, of course God is good, and all those things happened. But, I should have asked a few more things....

Please let the buyers not get lost.
Please let the truck not get stuck.

We wound up rounding up cattle in the dark, and cause we had to use a different truck, the step into the trailer was chest high for the little ladies. Was kind of a challenge, but no one got hurt!

It's kind of sad selling some of them off, but we really needed to thin the numbers some. Too many animals there, too much mud, too much hay. We kept one cow, her heifer calf that's close to weaning, and the cow is bred for a spring calf. Should be manageable. And now, we don't have to worry about re-breeding a cow until spring.

Honey and Big Boy are going hunting today, trying to fill Big Boy's buck tag. I'm taking Echo to a job interview, then going to an open house. Oh, and it's Hatch Day---5 baby chicks so far!

Oh my - what a misadventure! I understand the mixed feelings that come with decisions like that, but it does sound like this was the right way to go for all involved. Getting a little bit off your plate is a good thing.

I'd been wondering if I was reaching O2 territory so I've been checking my SaO2. It's usually above 93%, so I'm good that way.

Big Boy is home sick today, he's got some gi thing going on. He's isolated in his room, I'm out in the living room. Last thing I need is a stomach thing on top of my lung issues

.

Someone please tell me the sun is shining where you are! Overcast and gloomy today. I need to track town my special light bulbs I got last spring and get them going again, I think. I'm noticing a big difference between sunny and cloudy days. Upped my vitamin D, we'll see if that helps also.

Sorry about the lung issues. I do think a new place might help as long has it has good indoor air quality and now mold issues.

Sunny this afternoon. Got all the way up to 60*! Got the hay bale cold frame wrapped and lid installed. Seeds came today. Now, all I have to do is close in the "gables" and the front, water and plant. Green house is cranking out lots of lettuce and kale. Maggie (almost a year old) continues to think that she can chase chickens. So, she spent an hour this afternoon in the garden with me, on a VERY short leash. Any time she showed chicken interest, her leash got even shorter (like 6" long) and she had to lay down for a bit. Not her favorite thing to do... that obedience stuff.

LG, In the long run you'll appreciate Maggie not chasing the chickens! Nothing like raising the prey drive when a dog sees a chicken run which then can turn into a deadly game for the chicken, a happy excited dog and very mad owner.

Rachel, hang in there on finding the right one to buy. It's there (and remember 25% of take home... if you took F.P.U.?)
It was hot and sunny 75` then rainy today! Could have worn shorts. I am gone from putting on 4 quilts, a down comforter & hiding under the covers to just a sheet and sweating in 24 hours. Feels like I'm having hot flashes but it's the weather having hot flashes instead. Lol.

LG, I"m having to work with my dogs since we brought the cows home. Roscoe is going pretty well, Eve just doesn't have enough safety awareness to get out of the way. So, she basically stays out of the pasture. I don't want her stupid self getting hurt.

Did my overnight O2 monitor last night--actually slept really well, so I think they'll get an accurate reading. I don't think I have apnea issues, but we'll find out when they download.

Went to look at a place yesterday evening. Listing said 6 acres, level........Uh, no. the house sits on top of a cliff, basically. I'm not kidding, so steep you could not walk down the slope. I was so upset I called the listing agent and left a not so pleasant voice mail about wasting my time and my agent's time with a false statement in the listing......

The Locusts are home from school today, so if ti's sunny at all we'll get some chores done outside. See if it's a burn day maybe.

Yep, Rachel. Glad you called the listing agent on that faux pas. More people need to hold the seller accountable for their advertising. The right house is out there. You'll find it, and the timing will be right. While you're waiting, it gives you more time to tuck some money aside so the purchase doesn't hurt as bad.
