I was good and didn't ask about my labs this morning, but the nurse told me anyway...back up to 30. The docs are saying probably another week. I've kind of got my mind back around it, being here. It helps I had a friend come visit today, she'll be back tomorrow....and she brought fudge

with little pieces of Snickers bars in it

. Talk about a true friend!!! And honey and the boys will be up Sunday...so good to see them again.

Tomorrow's my birthday

and not only did Brandie bring me fudge, she brought me a Kindle Fire my honey bought me! Mine died here, so I'd had my younger son bring me his. Had to play the cancer card and everything to get it from him...now he can have it back and I've got a new one!

The first time I donated blood, I had to lie about my weight to qualify to donate. (I was underweight by 3#!)

I've told the nurses here about your mood lighting and sourland's gravy---they love it! They joke about doing the neutrophil dance when they draw blood. I was at the point a few days ago, I told them I was willing to entertain the idea of sacrificing small animals....that got some looks

especially when I mentioned I had a pen of cockerels I'd happily off it it would help

. Urban Portland folks apparently don't have much of a sense of humor when you talk about animal sacrifice

.

On a happy note, my honey and boys drove up and surprised me today! It was a short visit, up and home in one day, but I was so, so happy to see them. The best birthday present ever!
