My leukemia's back.

We went to Brookings. It's about a 2 hour drive for us, a little longer today cause Big Boy was driving on his learner's permit and he's slower in the mountains.

A little slower is a good thing! I know when we lived in McMinnville and would take 18 it was a death trap of a road due to all the crazies trying to make a race of the drive to/from the coast.

donrae, I just saw your post tonight when I was looking through other posts. I do hope that things have gone well for and that your are recovering and feeling great. I will pray for you that you are having a speedy recovery.

I'm so very sorry to hear about this. One of my sons had to go thur the same as you are staring to do all over again. I know just how tough you have to be to fight this for the 2nd time. The 3rd time this happen to my son, My youngest son was the donor. I had to turn it over to God, because I just couldn't take it. It has been 5 years now since all that went on. I sure hope you a quick recover time. I hope that everything goes great for you this time, and you never have to go thur this ever again.
Best of luck

Rachel, your day at the coast with the family sounds perfect. What a treat to share time like that together.

P.S. Please don't talk 3goodeggs into moving to OR, I have hopes that some day I'll get to meet her here in FL

P.P.S. Love your cookie random act of kindness, might have to adopt that idea myself!

Great day! Put bees on your 'to do' list. They are great fun and we need more bees. Thinking of you today and tomorrow.

Okay, that's how I'm going to resolve the Girl Scout attack at the grocery store too! I hate the cookies - I'm not much for sweets anyway but those are just plain yuckky to me. (Sorry if that offends any GS moms and dads out there). But I always end up buying some anyway, then take them home and pitch them. None of us are real crazy about any of the flavors. Now I'll just do exactly what you did. What a great idea! Would someone explain to me why those little Girl Scouts are always totally adorable with huge, pleading eyes? Is it planned?

Until my high school-er is out of the house, I better keep the Samoas. I do like the pay it forward idea though. I live in a kid heavy area, so if they come to my door to sell it, I buy it.

When I was a girl scout, we lived out in the sticks. I had to sell ten boxes of oatmeal cookies, and all I had around me were trees and squirrels.

I bought all my own cookies. (That was a summer's worth of lawn mowing)

(Imagine a Scarlet O'Hara moment here) I swore when I grew up.... I'd buy those kids cookies!
