I think my figured out that it gets a bit deep up there when he figured out what the red and white poles next to the fire hydrants were for.
Love it!
so, just gotta share this. Once in a while, a Momma's heart just swells and you can't believe you helped create this wonderful being.
Last night, it was just Echo, Sugar Monkey and I for dinner. We always hold hands and say grace before the meal. There's no assigned prayer, we just bow our heads and whoever feels led prays. My boys have been doing this all their lives and are very comfortable praying out loud. SM asked Echo if he would say our prayer.
Echo "I'm not very good at this, I've never done it before. I don't know how."
Sugar Monkey "God's not grading you. It's easy."
Echo "I don't know what to say."
Sugar Monkey "I'll walk you through it." Bows head and starts praying "Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for...."
Echo "This day."
SM "you've blessed us with and we thank you for....."
Echo "uh....this food"
SM "You've provided for us and the hands that prepared it." Opens eyes and looks at Echo "and now we wrap it up"
in unison "In Jesus' name we pray, amen".
How cool is that? My boy walked his bro through his very first out loud talk to God.
Course, as my heart is bursting, the other part of me is thinking I hope God likes Mad Lib type prayers, cause that may be what's coming up from this house before dinner for a while
