Still short of time and can't post pics

. But all is going well in the construction world. Picked up 3 bottles of mineral oil yesterday which is what we use to cure the butcher block countertop. Since mineral oil is a laxative, we bought it in the pharmacy. You should've seen the look on the cashier's face. I just let her think what she wanted....

Rachel...sorry for your troubles....I don't like your doctors....I really feel like going there a kicking some you know what.....
....you would probably be okay for a few days GvsH....especially since your on prednisone....but some of those meds cause serious withdrawals....I've been through painful and dangerous prednisone withdrawals before....shut my adrenal system right down....I'm glad I had very good doctors....I felt lime they treated me like a king compared to what you seem to have to deal with....take care and be careful with med situation.....Phil

Outpost, your mineral oil purchase reminds me of my son's computer . . . .

For his "Senior Project," DS decided to build a computer from scratch. He did his research and ordered the parts ($$$$$), and lovingly assembled it. During the "test drive," in spite of, like, 10 fans ($$$), it was running warmer than he wanted it to, so he decided to switch over to water cooling ($$). Wellllll, one of the fittings on the water cooling loop leaked on the motherboard (I knew water and electronics sounded like a bad idea!) and more parts ($$$$) had to be ordered. Afraid that the thing would leak again, DS opted to fill it with mineral oil for the next attempt at running (oil, though messy, wouldn't short out the electronics). The cheapest way I could buy mineral oil was as "Baby Oil," which of course has fragrance added to it; DS estimated we'd need 5 bottles ($). Maybe a good thing, maybe not - it did leak, and we had to spend hours and hours wiping mineral oil out of all the cracks and crevices inside the case (dust would stick to the oil, which could impede heat loss, making things run warmer). Eventually the leaks were stopped, but the oil wasn't as good as water for cooling, so DS drained the oil out and replaced it with water . . . . . but somehow the residual oil was interfering with the ability of the pump to pump water ($$) and had clogged the lines in the radiators ($$) . . . . .

Eventually, though, DS had a computer that worked (at the price of a good used car) and passed his Senior Project, so it was worth it.

Now, does anyone know how to get the smell of Baby Oil out of carpet?

Mini rant--things had been going so much better with my local doctor's office---until I'm trying to get a refill on my anti-rejection med. I'm thinking this one is kind of important, right? I started requesting a refill through the pharmacy over a week ago. nada. Went to the pharmacy today, still nothing. Asked if they're refax, and I called the office. Said I'd been working on it, I was only going to have a partial dose for tonight and then I'm out. Nothing got called in today. Now, I've missed a dose here and there over the months so I know it won't kill me or send me to the ED, but I have no idea how long that's going to last. I think I'll call them tomorrow and ask for a timeline on how long it takes cyclosporine to clear one's system and how fast graft vs host can move once the immune suppression effect is removed. Oh, and what are the first symptoms I'll be seeing?  and by the way, can ya'all please call in that refill? maybe save a trip to the hospital, you know, do your part to control healthcare costs......

Any way you can call Portland and get them to call in a refill?

At a clinic I briefly worked at, the refill requests would go through one person (with no medical training) to a different person (with minimal medical training) to be put in a "stack" of requests for the doctor to approve in between patients or at the end of the day. No triage of critical meds vs things taken electively. If the doctor was really busy, the stack would pile up for days!

peer pressure happens at all ages. and is there any other size for soup than the biggest pot in house. Then you have to keep it on low so it doesn't bubble over.

When I make soup, it always, without fail takes 2 pots: First, the pot I start it in, then the larger pot that I have to dump it into so it will hold all the veggies that I have still got to put into it... and the broth!!!

You might also ask them to give you a copy of your records for your lawyer to review! That'll get some attention!
