Of course I sleep...last night it was from 10pm to 2:30am. That's sleeping, right? Or maybe it was just a long nap.


We had a lot of fun last night with your pepper experience!

Today is the anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.Whiefish bay is just down the road a bit from here. I did not live up here when it happened but I remember that day. Man where does the time go?
It was one of those days you remember...like when Elvis died or John Lennon died...I'm too young to remember JFK ...

Bright spot: My dd did not get strep!
On another note I definitely have a URI and the antibiotic doesn't seem to be working well. Called the office saying so & I wanted to the main doctor to deal with it.They called back to say wait another 2 days, I said no, and almost let out a few choice words, paused, nurse said "you okay?" I said no, I am trying to not say something awful.

Look it's not your fault but...." and then had a really bad coughing fit. She said she would let the doc. know. Hours later *that* other doc calls and basically says "Come back in bcs now you have a new issue & no new antibiotics." Held my tongue then said look,this should have been taken care of last week and restated why. She says "But I prescribed you antibiotics on Friday. So you can come back in or go to an urgent care." I angrily said "Yes,I have been taking them since Friday!!! They are not working! I have been in bed all weekend and I am not satisfied with my care. I have been with this practice for over 20 years. I am not coming back in to see you. This should not be this way!!!!" Dead silence. She then hangs up.

Going to a new doc. This should not be so hard just to get a simple different antibiotic!
Need a brownie... Thanks for letting me get it out. (Dh was just as mad). So I fired my doc. today. Is that a bright spot or the heat from one of Phil's peppers? Hugs and thanks you all!

Hbh, sorry to hear you aren't feeling better. Good luck finding a new, more responsive doctor's office. (Wow, she hung up on you? wow.) I'm glad you told them how you felt about their handling of your situation...they needed to know it was unacceptable.

Glad to hear your DD doesn't have strep!

The hatches weren't secured. The boat took on water. The lake was so rough that day.that when she took on so much water and got in between waves she broke on half. Lake Superior is no joke. She is one rough lake. But beautiful....I'll take some pics sometime. But that lake is rough and cold...the water in it is about as pure as you can get....like the ocean you can see way down into her clear water. None off the other lakes are so clear and I've spent time fishing all of them.

Sometimes dealing with Drs sucks....hope you get it all figured out. Being sick and not getting someone to pay attention to your illness isn't a laughing matter.
If antibiotics were going to help they would have within 48 hours (at least a little). A few years ago I had a bad hand infection. I kept telling them the
Antibiotic wasn't working. I went through several rounds of treatment. I told them over and over not working.My hand swelled up like a pitchers mitt. This went on for weeks. They sent me to a hand specialist. Looked like I was going too lose my hand...no crap. Finally they took another culture and what do you know....the infection was bactruim resistant they switched to kflex....hand cleared up.
Yeah the whole medical industry...Frustrating...good luck.....Phil

It's a bright spot!!! Sometimes a new doctor can save your life......when DH and I 1st got married (11 years ago), he had been going to same doctor forever. Well, the chest pains he had been having for over 3 years were simply dismissed as anxiety. He was given a script for anxiety medication. One day he calls to make an appointment and they tell him that he had an outstanding balance of $10. He had moved and did not get their statements. Since this HUGE balance had gone unpaid for over 6 months, they dropped him as a patient. We paid the $10, but they said they were not accepting new patients.

DH made appointment at new doctor. After listening to his heart, new dr ordered new tests, a cardiologist appointment, etc. Less than a month after old dr dropped DH as a patient, DH was in the hospital recovering from quadruple bypass heart surgery.

We have to be our own advocates when it comes to healthcare.

House construction is going good. We went to Indiana to visit DD and grandson for 1st bday party over the weekend. LONG TRIP. Still not caught up in sleep. Got to get ready for work. You all have a great day!
