My leukemia's back.

Oh Blooie, don't even get me started on hair cuts. I always, always hated getting my hair cut. In a way, chemo was a blessing cause I didn't have to worry about it

. Now, my hair's almost 2inches long all over, I hadn't trimmed or cut anything, just letting it grow. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep it short, so I decided to have Honey trim it over the ears cause it was getting bushy. I didn't think I needed to go in somewhere just to have them trim it up. Well, he did okay-ish. I'll probably have it shaped some in a few weeks. but I hate, hate, hate trying to convey the image in my head to the stylist, and I can never seem to find a picture of what I want. I would literally rather go to the dentist than get a haircut

when your hair grows out to the place you like it. Photograph it.
Then as you get it trimmed closer and closer to your ideal get it photographed again.
My mom loved her post chemo haircut, but refused to let anyone touch it.
I told her she could just shave her head and every two months it should be just right.

Grrrrrrr I'm looking in desperation for a short haircut for my thinning hair, the lovely effect of which is complete with obnoxiously large cowlick right in the back! Makes the back near the crown look like I'm bald back there, and I spend way too much time trying to backcomb and cover the shining pink scalp back there. But try Googling "short haircuts for older women with thinning hair" and look at the majority of the results......why do "they" think they're helping me when the models for these "short haircuts for older women with thinning hair" are 15 years old with the same kind of thick mop I had when I was younger????
Probably for the same reason they use 20 year olds with perfect skin to sell wrinkle cream.

I've actually thought about that, believe it or not!

pre-chemo, I'd always wished I was ballsy enough to get a buzz cut. I just hated dealing with my hair. when Honey was trimming it last night, I think part of hoped he'd really mess it up so I'd have to take it all off again

I have to admit, I do love the texture though. It's not peach fuzz still, but it's very soft and fine. Love it!

After chemo...I looked fourteen....yeah I lost every hair. It's bad enough that I've always looked young for my age. My son used to get mad cuz people were always asking if we were brothers. I purposely don't shave ever day so I look my age with All that grey wiskers and if I take my hat off(almost never)., yup I you am bald but not by choice...haha

I have to say that I do so admire all of you that have gone through the loss of your head hair due to chemotherapy...you are all such wonderfully upbeat people...you give such inspiration to all of us here that have never suffered from any of the effects of chemotherapy...don't get me wrong here however, I have known many of my beloved friends that have had chemo and have suffered greatly through the many devastating side effects of this radical ( but life saving ) treatment...

I am honoured to have had the privilege to have had insight into your lives..thank you for sharing...your aspirations , fears and hopes for a fulfilled and wonderful future of great health...I wish for you....all and more than you could ever wish for yourselves...

Lots of love and undying respect...
